Hello Family -
Over the past few weeks, all our lives have been impacted in some way by the recent events related to COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Watching the news, we have all felt a bit overwhelmed at the progress of these recent public health challenges. We’ve been and remain hopeful that this pandemic will begin to decline in the coming weeks as our cities and states enact preventative measures, and medical professionals work tirelessly on providing a vaccine.  In the meantime, we’ve all been affected by this pandemic in one way or another.   In this time of uncertainty, households face temporary or permanent lay-offs from work, loss of childcare, financial distress and food insecurities.  Many of us are not in position to quickly recover from this shutdown of our livelihoods for what is right now an unknown length of time. It is going to take some time for all of us to recover financially, mentally and spiritually.
After careful consideration and a unanimous vote, the leaders of each branch of Lillie Mae Moore’s family has come to the tough but necessary decision to cancel the 2020 Moore Family reunion which was scheduled for July 3-5, 2020.  We know many of you were looking forward to the reunion this year and we were looking forward to celebrating with you all.  However, due to pending and existing economic hardships that many are facing or will face, we did not think it is a wise decision to move forward with the 2020 reunion.  Please understand this was not an easy decision nor was it taken lightly.

We will resume our next reunion, July 1-4, 2022.  The Thurman branch will be the host family.  They will meet and discuss the plans and locations for the upcoming reunion.  Updates on the 2022 reunion will be posted on the family Facebook page (@lilliemaemoorefamily) and the family website at www.lilliemaemoorefamily.com  on July 5, 2020.
We hope everyone who was planning to attend the 2020 reunion will keep the same energy and make plans to attend the 2022 reunion.  As always, we hope for as many family members as possible to join us.  Once we’ve recovered from the aftereffects of COVID-19, let’s start saving for the 2022 reunion, it will be epic!
We look forward to all of you joining us in 2022.
May you all be blessed and grateful before, during and after the storms of life!
